Downhill Skiing
Participation in AWeSOMe! is open to anyone that is interested in learning to ski, needing adaptive equipment or 1:1 instruction due to physical or cognitive disability. Participants must be medically stable. We offer alpine (downhill) ski lessons using adaptive ski equipment as needed to achieve maximum independence and success. Snowboarding is also an option if students are interested. Our goal is to teach skiing as a lifetime leisure skill and prepare individuals to ski as independently as possible. For the 2008/2009 ski season, AWeSOMe! offers a lesson package which includes a 2-hour lesson, adaptive equipment, and a lift ticket and lesson for the day. Cost is $45 per lesson. Some scholarships are available and no one is denied participation due to inability to pay. RESERVATIONS ARE REQUIRED. Please contact AWeSOMe! as far in advance as feasible. For more information, to schedule lessons or to learn about volunteer opportunities, please contact: 208.347.4484 or contact@awesomeidaho.org.
